Although we can see why some Native American groups and others might take the symbols of high school, college, and professional sports teams;  such as the Washington Redskins, Atlanta Braves and Florida State Seminoles, as being offensive.  We believe the nicknames and mascots actually pay respect to the Native Americans.
It is true the Native American culture is dying with each passing year. The long traditions of organizations like the Redskins, Braves and Seminoles continue to pay respect to a distant culture by being in the news and entertaining millions of followers every year.
Lastly, it is our belief that with so many problems and large issues confronting our world, people should not spend time worring about this issue.
